Lat day of November 2020

Image
Wow. November 2020 went by fast...and yet it all feels like it should have been a lot slower. Maybe it is because the holidays always seem to wiz past or maybe it's the patterned status quo but either way, today was a bit normal. Luna played and took over her room and the back of the living room. All her pups, pi masks, and blocks were out, though her blanket and screen took precedence today. Meanwhile, I tried (and failed) to join frames together. I also killed at least 2 of them while doing so, so it might all be dumpster waste. I also thankfully got some phone calls in and sadly made a big ol' mess with the glue on the carpet (it spilled over). It is being difficult and not coming out easily so it might be a soak the carpet and let it dry before tackling it again mess, instead of a total clean up today mess. Then did some screen time of my own and started the end of the month bedsheets. Woohoo. Dinner is jambalaya and my other half made more pumpkin goodies (we still have so

Book of the week: Shel Silverstein: Where The Sidewalk Ends

Oh ho ho! I found this on KU and couldn't resist! He was (is still?) one of my favorite authors growing up! Reading his poems again gave me a bit of a giggle...and I remember trying to do lots of things with that Hug-O-War poem of his. If you haven't read any of his stuff, he is a kid's author; and from what I recall poems (whether they be short poems or those long story poems like Homer did-prose?-) are his specialty. Where The Sidewalk Ends is one of his collection of poem books in which the poems are usually silly and short (unlike his book "the giving tree" in which he story-writes one long poem about, well, the giving tree!). If I remember correctly, he was one of those authors I found inspirational enough to try and write like...I am unsure if any of them survived (I don't thinks so), however, I sort of have ideas after reading this, so it may be fun to do! I could also tell how he influenced my...worage and verbiage in my speaking, heh. He does the artw

Crafting this week: puzzle "painting"

Image
The craft of the week is putting together and framing that puzzle I talked about earlier this week. It was fun, easy (ish), and a lot better when I actually had the stuff to do it right (ish). I got a thing of mode podge and that helped glue the puzzle together.  I also repainted-er, re-dot-to-dot- the canvas in so the puzzle would have a more even colored background. According to my child, the paw patrol that was colored on their before (as I reused the stringed art canvas) are now hiding behind their color, heh. Hope this piece will not be a luna destruction like the others!
