The Croods

Me and the Luna finally watched the Croods (well I watched it and Luna payed attention in between her playing). While I wasn't actually looking for it (I was looking for Onward on account of wanting to see it after finding a picture of it on one of my coloring apps),  I decided it would be a good to see since there is nowa second one. I found it to be a fun movie. It was a very heartwarming daddy-daughter, family-esk movie. As the movie is set in a fictional prehistoric timeline, one can ivenistion what our history tells us...with a bit of creative fantasy thrown in )(by the design of the creatures and environment). The croods-a caveman family that survives by always staying "in fear" and in the dark- is forced out and into the light by the act of "the end of the world" (a natural disaster). The head of the family (Grug-Nicolas Cage) is also challenged by his daughter's teenage rebellion (Eep-Emma Stone) and and by a young newcomer (the "modern human" Guy-Ryan Reynolds) who has a different outlook with new inventions and heart. The movie follows them on a journey to "find tomorrow." Grug is a caveman of his day and finds the new ways Guy brings strange and uncomfortable. As with most of these feelings, it came with jealousy and rivalry that seemingly divides himself from his family further and further until his change of heart and outlook adjust to seeing Guy as a potential ally versus a rival of his position. In doing so, he invents workable ideas of his own that end up helping the family in one way or another. By the end, they have conquered their environment and have decided to truly live life rather then survive it (as they were in the beginning of the movie). This movie also has a slight form of romance in the style of Eep and Guy (curious cavewomen to moden man).  The second movie came out Thanksgiving of this year...though now that I've seen the first one and the trailer for the second one, it seems like it will have more of less the same type of plot. The cavemen family finds a land that is farmed and run by a "modern day" family...with a wall surrounding it all...so basically a fancier version of the caveman's cave. The cast is the ame so it should be entertaining at least.
